As the education system gradually shifted from teacher-centric to student-centric learning methods, the undergraduate world saw AIIMS Delhi become a pioneer in this regard by establishing the MedQuiz Society, a society formed by a group of highly enthusiastic students with a common interest in quizzing.Formed with the goal of conducting medical quizzes, the society first aimed at preparing and priming medical quizzers for quizzes outside AIIMS. The society aims to continue the conduction of grand offline quizzes, with the added flavour of some online ones for a change of pace, along with encouraging other institutions to conduct such quizzes as well, for the ultimate objective of promoting the quizzing culture among the medicos of our country as much as possible.
The MedQuiz Society at AIIMS, New Delhi conducts the OD Quizzeria one-question-a-day series on Instagram. The series aims to engage participants in a fun and interactive way while also educating them on various topics. Each day, a new quiz question is posted, covering different question types such as single correct MCQs, matrix match, funda questions, and more. Participants are given 24 hours to submit their answers in the comment section, and the participant with the most correct answers at the end of the 30-day period is awarded a prize. The series received a high level of engagement from participants last year, with each question receiving an average of 50 responses. Over the course of the series, the MedQuiz Society's Instagram account gained over 500 new followers, demonstrating the success of the initiative. Participants reported that they learned something new from the questions, indicating that the series was effective in engaging and educating the participants. Overall, the OD Quizzeria one-question-a-day series was a successful initiative that effectively engaged participants in a fun and interactive way while also educating them on a range of topics.
