The Entrepreneurship and Development Cell (eDC), AIIMS, New Delhi is amongst the pioneer societies of the country which aims at promoting product development, financial literacy, innovation and entrepreneurship among medical undergraduates. As a part of the Scientific Society, eDC has till now successfully conducted numerous events like hackathons, Biodesign workshops, finance quizzes and much more.
AIIMS Hackathon is a simulation for product development and provides students with a nationwide platform to showcase their problem-solving skills. Our med-hackathon model has been designed to boost innovation, creativity and productivity in the medical field by the medical undergraduates. The outstanding innovations by medicos in these events inspire us to continue working towards unlocking the hidden startup potential of the country's budding doctors.
Stocks, shares, market, turf- all these words are associated with a feeling of financial thrill. Considering the risk involved in dabbling with stocks in real life and medicos in whom the dictum “you can’t be talking about landing the plane safely only 95% of the time” is programmed subconsciously leaves most of us deprived off this economic roller-coaster. The eDC regularly conducts Virtual Stock and Crypto leagues which are trading simulation events where participants are given VIRTUAL cash to trade securities in real-time thus experiencing the stock market without thinking of actual financial loss.
Money is something we all have a complex relationship with and profession is the last thing that would make someone immune to financial problems and mitigate the need to have adequate financial knowledge. We thus conduct regular quizzes challenging the grey matters of young medicos with puzzles from the economic world while enhancing their financial awareness at the same time.
